The APT Building Technology Heritage Library (BTHL) is primarily a collection of American and Canadian, pre-1964 architectural trade catalogs, house plan books and technical building guides. Trade catalogs are an important primary source to document past design and construction practices. These materials can aid in the preservation and conservation of older structures as well as other research goals.
A few select titles include:
"The International Scientific Committee on the Analysis and Restoration of Structures of Architectural Heritage (ISCARSAH) was founded by ICOMOS in 1996 as a forum and network for engineers involved in the restoration and care of building heritage."
Some ISCARSAH member papers include:
Impact of climate change on Prince of Wales Fort: the conservation process and the adaptation strategy / Lyn Fontaine and Cam Elliot
Of particular interest as our masonry students have done restoration field work at the Prince of Wales Fort.
The structural behaviour of masonry vaults :limit state analysis with finite friction / D.F. D'Ayala and E. Tomasoni
