Data Sets

Data analysis is used in many fields and disciplines. A Data Analyst examines data to determine patterns that can further research,  predict behaviors, identify trends and help businesses make better decisions.

Data can be gathered using many different methods, most used are qualitative, quantitative and a mixture of both. Software such as SAS is used to run analysis on “data sets” which are collections of raw data.

Large data sets are required to learn how to analyze data.  Unfortunately access to raw data is often restricted or costly.

In this guide the AC Library offers sources of free dataset generators (mostly from government or non-profit associations and agencies) that can be used for data analysis for classroom purposes.
