Use your Portfolio to Job Search

Before you publish your page, it’s a good practice to have someone you trust or someone who is familiar with your industry to review your content before publishing your page. It never hurts to have a second pair of eyes to catch potential errors or offer helpful advice on how easy it is to navigate your site!

Once you have completed and published your portfolio, you don’t want it to sit there unseen and untouched. Like your resume, your portfolio is fluid and should continually be updated to reflect new experiences, skills and accomplishments you obtain as you navigate your career.

Use your portfolio throughout your job search:

  • Add the link for your portfolio to your resume and LinkedIn page so that when an employer considers your application they can see visual samples to back up what you are claiming.
  • Bring along your portfolio in your next interview and point out projects, pictures and videos as you answer interview questions to further support and evidence your answers.
  • If you have or want to start your own business, use your portfolio to showcase your work to potential clients.

There are so many ways to use your portfolio to optimize your job search and be a standout job candidate.
